So with all that in mind Pamela Geller, the shrill bitch lunatic behind the absolutely insane blog Atlas Shrugs, demands to know why a critic of Islam who just can’t help himself when it comes to joining and supporting neo-fascist movements named Robert Spencer and some nonsense the fat lunatic fascist is involved in isn’t national news on the front page.

Here’s your answer you insane clod: BECAUSE NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT ROBERT SPENCER. His blog is read by few people. His books are read by even fewer. Yes, when neo-Nazi groups like Vlaams Belang want an American critic of Islam, they go to Robert Spencer. When a meeting of fascists like Pro-Koeln need someone who doesn’t look like the ubermensch to make wildly inappropriate and racist comments about Arabs, they go to Robert Spencer. When the media wants a legitimate critic of Islam and Islamic terrorism, they’re not going to someone with a record of being a bigoted shithead, they’ll go to Christopher Hitchens, Irshad Manji, Salman Rushdie, etc. There are plenty of scholars on religion whose views aren’t contaminated by feelings that Christians should slaughter the Muslims living in Turkey, as Robert Spencer clearly believes (if he didn’t, why did he join the Facebook group, hmmm?).

World Net Daily, of course, wets its pants and cries like a bunch of freaked out children when Robert Gibbs doesn’t play nice with their nonsensical truther bullshit.

Here, though, is an amusing part of that conversation:

World Net Daily is a legitimate news site, like a blog dedicated to posting pictures of amateur couples having sex is a legitimate news site. And at least with the latter, you get something on your screen with some potential value.

Now it’s nearly impossible to be an elected Republican in this country and not have your persona involve a whole lot of religion. It’s annoying, but it’s so common that whenever someone from the GOP talks about their faith in “god,” and how their Christian upbringing guides their policy decisions and life, the only real variable is the amount of time before the Republican talking about their faith admits to cheating on their spouse or demonstrating how effective abstinence only education is when forced to admit their child got knocked up because they’re not smart enough to know the proper usage of contraception.

Now however common it is for elected Republicans to come out and talk about their belief in their non-existent deity, it seems that very few are willing to come out and admit they believe the even loonier shit that goes with being a believer. Remember in the GOP debates when asked how many of the candidates didn’t believe in evolution? Only three of the nine on stage raised their hand (Huckabee, Tancredo, and Sam Brownback). Two of them had no shot whatsoever of being the GOP nominee, and Huckabee later explained that he believed the question was about evolution without any sort of creator (so he might not be a Young Earther).

Anyway, during a hearing in Arizona about uranium and shit, a Republican state Senator named Sylvia Allen said that environmental concerns shouldn’t be taken into account because in the 6000 year history of the Earth, we’ve not been extinct, and therefore global warming is a myth (or something, I honestly couldn’t believe Young Earth Creationism was being used to invalidate environmental concerns that I didn’t bother to transcribe the crazy woman’s babbling).

This brings us to a larger point, which is the unbelievably rapid disintegration of the Republican Party. How can a party that seems to be losing people left and right have such an amazingly deep roster when it comes to the comically stupid? Bobby Jindall, Mark Sanford, John Ensign, Sarah Palin, Sylvia Allen (now), George Allen, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, and I could seriously go on so long I might end up with the first 1 terrabyte blog post ever.

How can a movement that once had individuals like William F. Buckley, Thomas Dewey, etc. have become so wildly anti-intellectual and ridiculous? I mean Ronald Reagan was no genius, but even he didn’t go to the extremes of brainlessness we continue to see from the right.

Over the July Fourth weekend Rep King (Dipshit-NY) was asked about Michael Jackson’s death, and he responded by calling Michael Jackson a pedophile. Anyone who knows anything about this man that him saying something stupid like this is about as shocking as dropping a ball and it hitting the ground. The man is utterly brainless, and this isn’t exactly news.

Anyway, in the aftermath of Peter King proving he may have severe brain damage, a group was started with the intention of defeating Mr. King in his next electoral contest and according to reports they’ve raised an amazing $75. That will buy a minute of air time on NBC radio in 1924.

Honestly, there are sooooooooooooo many real reasons to dislike Peter King that makes his statements regarding Michael Jackson seem decent and thoughtful.

For example:
- He’s a racist
- He’s a sexist
- He’s a homophobe
- He supports torture
- He supported (and supports) the Iraq War
- He supports using nuclear weapons pre-emptively
- He supports the Patriot Act
- He supports Marxist Catholic terrorists (IRA)
- He voted for Reagan
- He voted for Nixon
- He voted for Palin
- He voted for George W. Bush
- He’s a Republican.

What he said doesn’t even remotely qualify as a reason to loathe Peter King.

I don’t know why I even expect less from a woman who supports Neo Nazi parties like Vlaams Belang, and movements started by German neo-fascists.

But no other evidence or, indeed, even any announcement, was made public today when word had been expected.

Ark hunters and Bible enthusiasts have been buzzing for two days on the report from the Italian news agency Adnkronos that Patriarch Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, said, “Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries.”

He had suggested the possibility the artifact might be viewable in a planned museum.

“I repeat (the Ark of the Covenant) is in Ethiopia and nobody … knows for how much time. Only God knows,” he said in the Adnkronos report available online.

I repeat: the Ark of the Covenant is a myth.

No no no, they’re also a clearinghouse for ridiculous medical theories too!

I did a Google News search, and the only news sources talking about this revelation end up linking back to WND.

That is an impeachable offense. And besides, there is a lot more to this story than just hot sex with an Argentinian woman, and all that will come out in due time. But what is unforgivable, regardless of how bad he must feel from an emotional point of view, is his dereliction of duty.

People get fired for abandoning their job for two hours without saying anything. He should lose his job. Period.
